  • A Single Line That Describes Me
Painting is my passion besides being my hobby. I remember doodling with a pencil on paper ever since I was in grade 3 and this led to my winning State Award for the All India Nehru Art Competition in high school. Having done a two-year course in oil painting and a diploma course in textile design, from Nirmala Niketan Institute of Polytechnic in Mumbai, India, I eventually became a Textile Designer by profession but have always remained an artist by choice. I have applied it in my profession, through creative designing, be it in textile designs, UNICEF cards/stationary on hand-made paper products or by creating art on canvas.
  • About Me
I am from Nepal and presently reside in Dubai, UAE where I work independently as an artist. I do commissioned work besides creating a variety of paintings on canvas that are for sale. I do work on various mediums such as, oils, acrylics, oil pastels, watercolors, pencils and charcoal. Artist like Claude Monet and Van Gogh are an inspiration and help motivate my vision and perception. Looking at nature and using its vibrant colors help transform my art into abstracts, landscapes and sceneries, florals, naturalistic and representational art so as to create their own rhythm. Being able to lose myself in a kaleidoscope of colors on canvas is like living a dream and making it come alive through my paintings. Art is an emotional link between artist and audience and it is a mode of creative expression.
  • Exhibitions:
I held my first solo exhibition “Pondering Moments” in Kathmandu, Nepal in February 2013. It was a collection of landscapes, horses, florals, mountains and abstracts on canvas and the medium used was acrylics and oil pastels. My next collection of paintings “Journey nullthrough Nature” was exhibited during my travel in the United States in September 2013 in the states of Virginia, New York, Texas and Washington D.C. These were mostly abstracts based on nature and some realistic landscapes with acrylic as the medium. My next Exhibition, Moods of Nepal” was held in Kathmandu, Nepal on 4th of December 2014. This collection was a cultural theme based on the people of Nepal…capturing their moods and moments. I've given a percentage of my proceeds from my exhibitions to charity and will continue to do so in future as well. In addition to being an artist, I have worked as Program Officer in NGOs funded by DFID and USAID for Good Governance in Nepal, as as Freelance Designer for a project of UNICEF and as Counselor and Administrative Coordinator for a Canadian based Education Consultancy – Futures Abroad in Dubai.
